Modernizing Zimbabwe’s Civil Registration System: DIGITECH Successfully Continues Its Commitment

DIGITECH continues its commitment to modernizing the civil registration management system of Zimbabwe. The first phase, now completed, enabled an update of the system’s functionalities, thereby strengthening operational efficiency.

The second phase of the project will begin in November, introducing new innovative features designed to meet the needs of civil registration officers and national authorities.

The first major addition will be a mobile system for civil registration officers in the field. This system will allow them to collect civil events and submit them directly to the central system, whether online or offline. This represents a significant advancement for Zimbabwe, offering broader coverage, enhanced security for civil registration records, and improved proximity of public services to citizens.

The second feature will be the integration of a Business Intelligence tool. This tool will analyze collected civil registration data and produce reports and statistical indicators, such as birth and death rates. This operational monitoring, requested by the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency, will help better shape public policies adapted to the population’s needs.

DIGITECH is proud to work closely with SEMLEX to support the digital transformation of Zimbabwe’s public administration.
